Personalized Job Training and Support Services to Transform Lives

Welcome to Career EXCELerate Wisconsin, a highly personalized program to help individuals interested in developing job skills and growing a career. 

This comprehensive career-training program is offered at no cost to individuals who want an opportunity to find a career pathway that will help them launch a lasting career. The program provides individualized support to participants on their journey from assessing career interests to helping secure jobs. Some career pathways have enabled participants to increase their hourly wage by more than $10 upon completing the program.

 

 

Career EXCELerate Wisconsin supports students by:

  • Developing job skills, coaching and resume building.
  • Training within highly in-demand career pathways.
  • Assisting with finding employment at a local workplace upon completion.
  • Providing support services throughout training and the first three months of employment.
  • Connecting to resources for childcare, transportation and housing.

Career Educational Certificate Options


Depending on career paths, certificate programs range from approximately one week to one semester
Programs offered on-site at Fox Valley Technical College unless otherwise noted below. 

Health Services

Certified Nursing Assistant | Overview

  • Eligibility: must be 16 years of age or older, able to pass a caregiver background check, submit to a tuberculosis (TB) test.
  • Career EXCELerate is excited to partner with a variety of nurse aide (CNA) class providers in the counties we serve, whose course dates and times vary throughout the year. Please note that some classes are offered in a hybrid format and others are all in-person: Fox Valley Technical College, Healthcare Workforce Training Institute and Quality CNA Training.

Certified Direct Care Professional | Overview

  • Eligibility: must be 16 years of age or older and live in the counties served through this program.
  • Career EXCELerate is proud to offer access to an online course available in partnership with WisCaregiver Careers across Wisconsin, through the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay and the WI Department of Health Services.

Patient Care Technician | Overview

  • Eligibility: must be 16 years of age or older, able to pass a caregiver background check, submit to a tuberculosis (TB) test, and live in the counties served through this program.
  • Career EXCELerate is excited to partner with the following provider, whose in-person course dates and time vary throughout the year: Fox Valley Technical College - Appleton Campus

  • Eligibility: must be 18 years of age or older and live in the counties served through this program.
  • Earn your certification through National Healthcareer Association as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT credential).
